I remember the loud the useless opposition from sections of the general public when the government wanted to introduce mandatory towing levies. Ghanaians will oppose anything that involves money. Broken down vehicles on motorways, local roads are very dangerous. What is the big deal if every a levy is added to vehicle insurances to fund towing of broken down vehicles in the country??? GHC10 levy will do the magic. Just position towing vehicles at strategic locations so that they tow all manner of vehicles or trucks within an hour of breakdown to safe locations. It will safe lives and property. What you get to see is broken vehicles left idle awaiting repair or towing for days and sometimes weeks. We are very stubborn.

Sorry for both deaths but how can someone experienced in riding a motor bike or in driving a car , truck or bus run into a broken down vehicle in or out of the road. If you are looking straight ahead surely you can see the object in front of you. When using a motor vehicle many don't drive at a safe speed. Or they are looking at everything else but the road (broken down truck) directly ahead of them. Speeds kills. You should not be chasing a fool in a crowded area because you put others in danger. Its like russian roulet on the roads...half blind, half no experience, half with bribe license to drive. Police should be trained better and use better judgement. Even poor people have cell phone.. call the fellow policemen in the area .. give a description of the idiot running away.. and they could cut him off.
