Sometimes I just laugh when I hear people say they come from this or that place. And the measuring rod is usually because their mum or dad 'claim' they came from a certain place. Now the question is how far back can you go to really determine where you come from? For eg: can you tell us, up to the 10th generation of your forefathers origins? And even beyond? The most ridiculous claim by some people that they emerged from a hole even makes this whole 'I come from here' thing nonsensical. Everybody came from somewhere. We're therefore products of our environment. Let's celebrate our common humanity and stop this tribal supremacy and stuff.

We need to understand certain things. No group of people called Asantes came from Bono and settled anywhere. There were some independent states or tribes such as Kwaman which is today called Kumasi, Apemso which is now called Kumawu, Offinso, Kokofu,Edwoso, Juaben, Adansi, Mampong and many more decided to come together because of war and that gave birth to the name ASANTE. We should not make it look as if Asante was a tribe somewhere and they migrated to their present locations. Today when we talk of Asante it includes people originated from Denkyira, Akwamu and Bono. People should not see Asante as one small group of who migrated from Bono to settle in their present location and had grown big. It is never like that. Asante formation is like United State of America which was independent states and decided to come together as one nation and likewise Asantes. You may see the name ASANTE as the youngest among the names of tribes in Ghana but the people are among the oldest.

When lawyer Anokye said all akans were bonos I understood perfectly, because all the progeny of would-be akans once were in bono state, be it bono manso or any of the bonomanso villages.
Besides all akan artifacts discovered by archaeology that were dated pre-12/13th century were all found in the Bono area; other akan areas had no discovery of akan relics or artifacts pre-12/13th century except certain areas of the comoe lagoons down to few nzemaa areas in cote d'ivoire where some scanty relics were found...

Yes asante is indeed a child but all progeny of asante (which just surfaced in late 17th century) have their lineage traced thru Amansie (even the records are clear that major asante areas like edwiso, agona etc are well known adanses who know and believe their lineage were from bono manso) hence part of adanse - denkyira in the 'olden past'. So if adanse - denkyira affirms their movement from Bono, how could this man be so stupid not to realize what lawyer Anokye projected.
If we have fools like this being given space in Ghana to speak to children why wouldn't arrogance and nepotistic behavior drive in "nkuraasefoc" country like Ghana.
