The Okaikoi North Municipality has renewed its commitment to environmental cleanliness under the leadership of its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Christian Tetteh Badger, who led a team of young men and women in a community-wide cleanup exercise in support of President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for a cleaner Ghana.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Badger encouraged residents of Okaikoi North and Ghanaians at large to actively participate in the National Sanitation Day initiative, stressing that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility.

“This is not just a municipal activity, but a collective effort to support the vision of our President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, for a cleaner and healthier Ghana,” he stated.

The MCE further outlined measures being implemented by the municipality to sustain sanitation improvements beyond the periodic cleanup exercises.

“We are committed to ensuring that cleanliness is maintained in our municipality even after today’s exercise,” he added.

The exercise attracted strong participation from community groups, local organisations, and municipal staff, reflecting the collaborative spirit the MCE hopes to promote in achieving long-term sanitation goals.

Participants covered major areas from the Nyamekye Traffic Light through to the Niiboi Man Junction, clearing refuse and improving the overall sanitation conditions of the community.
