The project was driven by local needs of the community
The TIYAC Foundation, led by Innocent Yao Tsorxe, has donated four Starlink internet devices to selected health centres in the North Dayi District to address long-standing challenges with poor or no internet connectivity.
The initiative was inspired by the successful installation of Starlink internet at the Awate Health Centre by the Transitional Chief of Awate Todzi. According to the Foundation, the improved connectivity at that facility has significantly enhanced communication, emergency response, and overall healthcare delivery.
Following that example, the Foundation identified about four additional health centres in the district facing similar connectivity challenges and extended support to them.
It noted that internet access has become an essential tool in modern healthcare delivery, rather than a luxury, particularly in rural areas.
With the new installations, the beneficiary health centres are expected to improve emergency communication with doctors and specialists, access up-to-date medical information, enhance patient referrals, support continuous training for health workers, and strengthen record-keeping and reporting to health authorities.
The Foundation explained that the project was driven by local needs and demonstrated how community-led initiatives can improve service delivery when supported with practical solutions.
It added that the intervention forms part of its broader commitment to supporting development projects that improve healthcare, communication, and access to information in rural communities.
TIYAC Foundation said it remains committed to working with local leaders and stakeholders to promote initiatives that strengthen community development and improve healthcare outcomes.
