Already published journals which I've contributed significantly clearly shows our only natural lake in West Africa is being threatened due to ever increasing built-up areas associated with uncontrollable human demands from the powerful and the rich to the detriment of the poor local folks whose fishing, fish mongering and fruit picking livelihood are threatened every day. The catchment area and the water level have reduced since 1986.
