A group of assembly members in the Ellembelle District have strongly denied reports suggesting they petitioned the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources over a dispute involving Adamus Resources Limited, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a rejoinder issued on April 22, 2026, the concerned members said they had “no knowledge of any such petition or engagement with the Minister regarding the alleged matter,” insisting that “at no point have we collectively or individually initiated such action.”

The statement, signed by Banabas Ewereko, emphasised that the publication in circulation had no factual basis and risked creating unnecessary tensions within the district.

“We wish to categorically state that this publication is false, misleading, and without any basis in fact,” the rejoinder stressed.

The assembly members further dismissed claims of any ongoing conflict involving the mining company, noting that “there is no ongoing dispute between the communities and Adamus Resources Limited that warrants escalation to the minister.”

According to them, the report represents a “misrepresentation and distortion of facts,” warning that such narratives could disrupt peace in otherwise stable communities.

“We urge the general public to disregard this misinformation and treat it with the contempt it deserves,” the statement added.

The group also cautioned media practitioners and the public to prioritise accuracy, urging them to “verify their facts before publication and uphold professionalism in their work.”

They warned that “such unfounded publications have the potential to create unnecessary tension and misinform the public,” particularly in a constituency that remains calm.

Reaffirming their position, the assembly members concluded that “there is no petition by Assembly Members,” and that “the situation within the area remains calm and stable.”

The rejoinder was backed by several assembly members across electoral areas in the district, including Paul Kwaw Yankee (Kikam), Francis Awuah (Anwia Teleku-Bokazo), Francis Kwaw Mensah (Nkroful), and Patrick Assuah (Ankobra), among others.
