As part of efforts to strengthen relationships with stakeholders in project-affected communities, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Gas Limited Company, Judith Adjobah Blay, paid a courtesy call on the Prestea Himan Traditional Council in the Western Region.
Ghana Gas has operated a Regulating and Metering Station in Prestea since 2015.
It is therefore essential for the company’s leadership to maintain strong and continuous engagement with key stakeholders in this important operational area.
The Chief of Prestea Himan, speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council, expressed appreciation for the CEO’s visit and her proactive approach to engaging with Nananom.
He noted that since the company began operations in the area, no previous CEO had visited or engaged the traditional leadership, making Adjobah Blay’s visit both historic and commendable.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni-Valley, Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, joined the Chief in highlighting key concerns affecting the people of Prestea.
Judith Adjobah Blay further took the opportunity to assure the Traditional Council of strengthened collaboration going forward.
She announced that approval has been secured for the construction of a new bridge and the rehabilitation of the road linking the community to the company’s operational site.
She pledged that the company would build a new male ward facility for the Prestea Government Hospital.
She emphasised that plans were well advanced to create more employment opportunities for the local indigenous people within the company.
