The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has reaffirmed her commitment to education and youth empowerment by donating essential examination materials to candidates preparing for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the East Gonja Municipality.

The donation, made on her behalf by the Salaga South NDC Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz, included 1,200 mathematical sets and 24 boxes of pens to support all 1,155 candidates expected to sit for the examinations beginning Monday, May 4, 2026.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Chairman Abdul Aziz stated that education continues to be a key priority for the MP.

According to him, for the past six years, the MP has consistently supported BECE candidates through the sponsorship of mock examinations, provision of examination materials, and assistance with transportation and meals.

He further revealed that plans have been put in place to provide daily lunch for candidates, invigilators, and security personnel throughout the examination period.

Candidates from the Konkomba, Kafaba, Makango, and Abromase circuits, who will be housed at Salaga Senior High School and T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, will also receive breakfast and supper during their stay.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate, Rev Augustine Tunkungmen, Deputy Director in charge of Monitoring and Supervision, expressed appreciation to the MP for her continuous support for education in the municipality.

He assured that the materials would be distributed promptly to help candidates adequately prepare for the examinations.

He noted that such interventions help ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while promoting academic excellence among students.

The MP also extended her best wishes to all BECE candidates, encouraging them to approach the examinations with discipline, confidence and determination.
