Dr Valerie Sawyerr has offered special prayers for Chief of Staff
Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor for Governmental Affairs, has offered special prayers and warm congratulations to the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a widely circulated video, Dr Sawyerr described Julius Debrah as “a joy to work with” and hailed him as an incredible human being who exudes warmth, genuineness, and serves as a true symbol of unity.
Speaking about their close working relationship, Dr Sawyerr prayed fervently for divine strength and protection for him. She encouraged him not to be shaken by challenges and declared that every mountain before him would crumble.
“Chief, I enjoy working with him. I enjoy working with him,” she said warmly. “Chief, don’t let anything shake you. As you move along this journey, whatever crosses your path that seems like a mountain will fall. Whoever comes against you, thinking they will destroy or bring you down, you will rise—and rise even higher.”
She concluded with powerful declarations of faith: “Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. And that He will hold your hand and guide you on the path you should follow. In the end, you will raise your hand and say, ‘Of a truth, I have served the living God, and He has never let me down.’”
Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff to President John Dramani Mahama, recently celebrated his 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone in a life dedicated to public service and national development.
Born on April 24, 1966, in Obomeng, Kwahu, in Ghana’s Eastern Region, Julius Debrah has risen through the ranks of Ghanaian politics with quiet strength, loyalty, and competence.
A proud product of Mpraeso Secondary School and Achimota School, he later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology and Sociology from the University of Ghana.

Before venturing fully into politics, he spent nearly two decades in the real estate and agricultural sectors, bringing a practical and development-oriented perspective to governance.
Over the years, Julius Debrah has held several key positions within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including serving as Eastern Regional Chairman. His strong organisational skills and ability to build consensus have earned him widespread respect across the party.
In January 2025, President Mahama reappointed him as Chief of Staff, a role that places him at the centre of government operations and coordination.
