Renowned road contractor Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife, Dr Esther Okyere Gyebi, have been honoured by the Kumasi South Hospital at Atonsu Agogo for donating over GH¢250,000 to support childhood cancer patients.

The hospital presented a citation to the couple on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in recognition of their lifesaving contribution.

The children, who suffered from kidney cancer and retinoblastoma (an eye cancer), were reportedly on the brink of death before the intervention.

Through the Kofi Job Foundation, the philanthropic couple covered the full cost of treatment, enabling the children to receive specialised medical care.

Presenting the citation, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Mercy Adu Forkuo said the support ensured the patients received optimal treatment.

“On behalf of the hospital, we say thank you to Kofi Gyebi Job and wife Dr Esther Okyere Gyebi and the Kofi Job Foundation,” she said.

Receiving the citation on behalf of the couple, Public Relations Officer for the Kofi Job Foundation, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, expressed joy at the impact made.

He pledged the foundation’s continued support to uplift vulnerable members of society.

Oncologist Paediatrician Dr Alimatu, who managed the treatment, confirmed that the children are now free from the cancers.

“Thanks to the Kofi Job Foundation, the children are now free from their cancers,” she said, adding that the facility will always be grateful for the foundation’s support.

Families of the children said they had lost hope after learning about the diagnoses and the cost of treatment, until the intervention of Kofi Gyebi Job and Dr Gyebi.

They noted that the couple lifted a significant financial burden by fully covering the treatment costs and commended the foundation for saving their children.
