4 houses burnt at Keri amid ongoing conflict in Nkwanta South
Four houses at Keri, a farming community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, have been set ablaze following renewed violence in the area.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the incident has heightened tensions in the community. It follows the killing of a 25-year-old food vendor, Richmond Benye, on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Another victim, 25-year-old Bright Nkpah, sustained gunshot wounds on Monday, May 4, 2026, while returning home. He is currently receiving medical treatment.
In response, security agencies have intensified operations to stabilise the area. A joint team of military and police personnel has been deployed to Keri and surrounding communities to restore calm and prevent further violence.
The Ghana National Fire Service also responded to the scene to contain the fire and limit damage to property.
While the situation remains tense, calm is gradually returning as security patrols continue.
Authorities have launched investigations into both the arson attack and the shooting incidents.
