Hearse driver killed in head-on collision at Nsuatre Amamfoso

A fatal road crash at Nsuatre Amamfoso in Ghana’s Bono Region has claimed the life of a hearse driver on Friday, May 8, 2026.

According to a report by adomonline.com, the accident occurred between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm when the hearse, which was transporting a corpse from Sunyani to Koraso, collided head-on with a Kia truck.

The impact killed the hearse driver instantly. The driver of the Kia truck sustained severe, life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.

The body of the deceased driver has been deposited at the Holy Family Catholic Hospital morgue in Berekum. Family members accompanying the corpse made alternative arrangements to continue the journey to Koraso.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service (Berekum and Nsuatre divisions) responded swiftly to the scene, cleared the wreckage, and restored traffic flow.

Residents have expressed concern about the Nsuatre Amamfoso stretch, describing it as a notorious black spot.

According to locals, more than 20 lives have been lost in multiple fatal crashes at the same location over the past five years, with many others sustaining serious injuries.

Security agencies have launched investigations into the incident and are urging drivers to exercise maximum caution and strictly adhere to road safety regulations.
