Assembly member hands over information centre equipment to Wuxor community

The Assembly Member for the Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area, Hon. Japhet Festus Gbede, has successfully completed his initiative to establish information centres in all communities within the electoral area following the commissioning of a fully equipped information centre at Wuxor.

The project, which forms part of the Assembly Member's commitment to improving communication and information dissemination at the community level, saw the donation of two Ahuja Mega Horn speakers, an amplifier, a microphone, and other necessary accessories to the Wuxor community.

Hon. Gbede personally supervised and supported the installation of the equipment to ensure the facility became operational immediately after its handover to the chief and elders of the community.

Speaking during the presentation, the Assembly Member explained that the initiative was conceived shortly after his election, with the aim of ensuring that every community within the electoral area has access to a functional information centre capable of facilitating timely communication, public education, and community mobilisation.

According to him, the commissioning of the Wuxor Information Centre marks the successful completion of the project, making Wuxor the last community to benefit from the intervention.

He noted that effective communication remains a critical tool for community development and expressed confidence that the facility would help improve the dissemination of important information and strengthen community engagement.

The chief, elders, and residents of Wuxor expressed appreciation to the Assembly Member for the gesture and commended him for fulfilling his commitment to the people. The warm reception and enthusiasm shown by the community, according to Hon. Gbede, have further strengthened his resolve to continue pursuing development-oriented initiatives for the benefit of the electoral area.

The completion of the Information Centre project adds to a growing list of community development interventions being undertaken within the Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area, aimed at improving the living conditions of residents and promoting grassroots participation in local governance.
