How can developpers be faster than government?
Drainage must be constructed before any building is put up.
New areas must be predemarcated before people build.
Indeed, the houses pulled down was a mistake.
BUILD DRAINS INSTEAD, AND CLEAN THE GUTTERS.
Existing drains are too small for the growing population and waste.
Let people stay in their villages and not rush to Accra.

It rains in Singapore more than in Ghana. It basically rains every week in Singapore, a country whose size is like Accra but 5 to 10 minutes after a heavy down pour, all water, run offs vanish underground into huge drainage networks into their water treatment plants for reuse of into the sea.

In Europe (Holland, Italy, Spain, UK, etc), they are leaving in harmony alongside rivers and water bodies. Some of these rivers run through centers of cities.

Come to Ghana and we are demolitioning properties, homes to claim the land for the sea and lagoons.

Accra flooded on Monday April 18th 1960, where were all the structures talked about today on water ways??,

Instead of thinking about lasting solutions, the Ghanaian Leadership is looking at the easiest way by demolitioning peoples properties and homes.
