Even though the Ministry of Roads and Highways through the Department of Urban Roads is responsible for the construction and maintenance of Roads and drainage structures in the cities, they haven't been seen since the floods of June 29th. They have the budget for the routine maintenance activities on the roads like desilting and pothole patching. The pothole riddled roads are a big mess. We cannot reconstruct all the roads under the big push.

People (at the municipal assemblies and regional offices) are not doing the work they are paid for every month and he is unable to fire them. Ghana is truly a Banana Republic.
