FIGHT AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING IN GHANA
In accordance with the State of Ghana vs Wontumi/ Akonta Mining Company, the Attorney General ought to cause the arrest, prosecution and imprisonment of the Directors of Adamus Resources.
Adamus Resources permitted illegal miners to operate on their mining concession. That was the exact offence which Wontumi was accused with and he was convicted and imprisoned.
● The government reportedly revoked the mining leases of Adamus Resources. That is all?
● The owners/ Directors of Adamus Resources can't walk freely away.
■ For the same offence Wontumi is in prison for 20 years. Judge Audrey Kocouvie-Tay imposed the sentence. The Prosecutor was Deputy Attorney General Srem Sai.
