Sacred Crown Awards created to celebrate African heritage, spirituality and wellness - Ga Mantse

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, has explained that the maiden Sacred Crown Awards was established to celebrate and preserve Africa’s heritage, spirituality and wellness.

According to the Ga Mantse, the awards form part of initiatives under the offices of the Ga Traditional Council, the Ga Mantse and the Ga Mantse Foundation, with support from the COA Group of Companies.

He said the awards were created to recognise individuals and institutions whose work promotes and protects African identity, strengthens communities, improves well-being and reinforces positive social values within African societies.

“The reason why it was created is because of our African heritage, our spirituality and wellness,” the Ga Mantse said on August 25, 2026.

He explained that the Sacred Crown Awards are built around three main pillars: African identity and heritage, African spirituality, and wellness and well-being.

“The first one is our African identity or our African heritage. The second one is our spirituality as Africans. The third one is wellness and our well-being as humans,” he said.

The Ga Mantse said the initiative was therefore intended to provide a platform for celebrating people and institutions whose contributions continue to advance African values and positively impact communities.
