New Tafo Circuit of the Koforidua Diocese
The New Tafo Circuit of the Koforidua Diocese has received a motorbike to strengthen evangelism activities and improve access to communities that are difficult to reach, following a donation by the Circuit Lay Movement Council.
The motorbike was presented over the weekend by the Lay Chairman of the Koforidua Diocese, Bro Samuel Kwesi Appah-Peniel, at the Emmanuel Society in New Tafo.
The donation, sponsored by the New Tafo Circuit Lay Movement Council, is expected to ease transportation challenges faced by the circuit and support efforts to extend evangelism to more communities.
Speaking at the presentation, Bro Appah-Peniel urged other circuit lay councils in the diocese to emulate the initiative by committing resources to evangelism and other mission-focused activities.
He stressed the need for adequate funding for programmes aimed at spreading the gospel, encouraging church leaders to make evangelism a priority in their financial allocations.
The Diocesan Lay Chairman also used the occasion to appeal for collaboration and financial support towards the surgeries of two members scheduled for October 19 and 27, 2026.
Receiving the motorbike on behalf of the circuit, the Superintendent Minister of the New Tafo Circuit and Diocesan Lay Coordinating Secretary, the Very Rev. James Ampiaw, commended the Circuit Lay Movement Council for responding to the circuit’s transportation needs.
He said the donation would help improve mobility for evangelism teams and make it easier for them to access areas where transportation has been a challenge.
The Very Rev. Ampiaw appealed to individuals, corporate institutions and benevolent organisations to support the circuit’s mission work with additional motorbikes and other logistical resources.
He assured the donors that the motorbike would be used for its intended purpose and commended the Diocesan Lay Movement Council for its commitment to the diocese’s social service agenda.
The donation underscores the role of local church groups in providing practical support for evangelism and strengthening the capacity of congregations to reach communities beyond their immediate surroundings.
