What a hypocrite as are almost the entire law enforcement infrastructure in the country. Everybody knows the police in Ghana are totally corrupt particularly the traffic police, and yet we have an Assistant Commissioner appealing to the police to enforce traffic regulations. This man must be Ghana's answer to the ancient King Canute who ordered the waves, tide not to come to shore. In typical Ghanaian fashion, he appeals to the police to do their jobs. Management and sometimes even government of the nation's affairs is by appealing to people. When the customs people are found to be corrupt the President appeals to them to do their jobs. As to law enforcement one only has to find out what goes on in the courts, the interminable delays and postponements, the exorbitant fees charged by lawyers all sanctioned by the Bar Association. There is every law in Ghana but few are enforced so what do we do, not a lot because there is nothing we can do. Very sad. In the meantime we have to suffer the usual nonsensical rhetoric which people like the Assistant Commissioner think is work. Talk is not work, actually setting up systems and means of monitoring that people are working to procedures and systems is work. But that is too much when it is easy to shout platitudes rather than actually work.
