  STMA has a lot to do to develop the metropolis.
  
  The physical infrastructure of the city leaves much to be desired. Gutters and drains must be covered, streets and roads constructed, pavements laid properly and the city kept clean.
  
  The menace of prostitution and other social vices must be addressed.
  
  STMA must build a city worthy of its Oil City tag. The opportunities are manifold with the expansion of Takoradi harbour, rehabilitation of the railways, expansion of the airport, thermal plant and construction of the gas pipeline from the Jubilee fields.
