  Mr. Minister, that statement can never be true. A lot of Alavanyo people were shot dead in their own homes, by the people of that chief. Even if his illogical statement is taken for a fact, the reality of the matter still remains that, both communities claim ownership of the same piece of land, that is why they all go to meet in the same forest. THE BEST SOLUTION IS FOR GOVERNMENT TO TAKE OVER THE SAID LAND.

  Harvesting a tree can take more than a day, i.e. felling the tree, splitting into lumber, drying it for a couple of days before conveying to town. Cutting timber is not like cutting a plantain tree.

  Because both sides claim ownership of the land, both sides have been harvesting timber from the land. I don't know why the Nkonya chief is claiming only Alavanyos have been cutting timber on the land. If the chief does not know what is happening on that land, how can he and his people claim the land belongs to them?
  
  If he does not know, several things go on on that land. Some are even cultivating wee on the land and the Nkonya chief is aware. Because he knows those cultivating the wee, he will not mention that because he does not want to expose his own people.
  
  We know the Regional Minister does not have much experience in this area, however, he should be careful not to listen to one side and take a decision. He should play an unbiased role in this dispute so that a peaceful solution can be found instead of trying to please Dr. Kwabena Adjei, the NDC Chairman who hails from Nkonya. He should first sit down with both sides, hear from them or confirm whatever he heard from the Rev. Ministers and Agencies involved in the mediation process before going to Press to make his intentions known.
  
  Don't let one side feel that he is being biased against them.

  For your information there are not many big trees anymore in these lands, and the Alavanyo people care and respect Nkonyas so much that they never get anywhere near Nkonya lands.
  
  This minister and others are those fanning the conflict by giving the Nkonyas military rifles they use during the conflicts. During the last confrontations, how many military men died in Nkonya?
  
  Let them continue until one day the Alavanyos will be tired of the serial ambush they always resort to, to kill people at Alavanyo at dawn...
