Parents are the first teachers of their children. Most children fail at school because their first teachers (Parents) fail to do their sacred duties at home, yet these parents want school teachers to be miracle performers for their wards. What a shame! It is true that some teachers are VERY inefficient, nevertheless, most parents are more negligent to the needs of their children. If parents think the GES is not performing well, why don't they try home school as it is done on the USA?

Please note that the Government has the obligation to reward the GES personnel promptly and adequately for their service, not to mention the provision of educational materials and infrastructure. In a school setting, there are two major things that go on in the classroom. Viz: a) teaching and b) learning, hence teachung and learning. Now if the teachers teach and students refuse to learn, what do parents expect teachers to do? how can their children pass examinations? In the olden days when discipline was in schools and the positive support from parents, students performed better with distictions, very good grades etc. There are other public schools in ghana performing very well in all the external examination, why bcos discipline is working there. for mr.danso to blame the government for dat matter GES, to me it does not hold water. Parents of today are money concious at the expense of their children education. In the olden days when teachers have total control of the students, yielded good results to the extend dat parents them selves priased the teachers in different ways. If students did well in external exams, the glory goes to the students but when students failed, parents, communities etc blame the teachers. can anybody blame a medical doctor if his or her patient dies? is hard parents should leave teachers alone to idscharge their duties as professional teachers.

Mr Dansi should ask himself if all his classmates from Primary One passed their exams. If the current public school education system is not suitable for his children, he has two options: either he enters the classroom to teach his children or take them out and educate them in the private schools, like many parents who can afford it are doing. If he can' t do either, he should find out the reason for the mediocre education his children are receiving in the public sector. Don't blame the teachers; blame Rawlings and his idiotic NDC.

It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to take teachers of their wards to task. We do not need the intervention of the national body to see to it that we get a fair reward for our efforts.

It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to take teachers of their wards to task. We do not need the intervention of the national body to see to it that we get a fair reward for our efforts.
Each local PTA should institute measures to stop the failures. Any teacher who does not perform must be shown the exit. We can start with the form/class teachers. Each school should make sure there is a tutor responsible for each class, even when the particular school operate the subject tutor system. Any school which records a 0% pass should get rid of the head teacher and the form/class tutor with immediate effect. That would be a lesson to their replacements. If the results for the subsequent year does not show any siginificant improvement, the entire staff should be made to quit.
That way, the head teachers would not wait until the PTA gets on their trail before taking action agaiinst any non-performing teacher.
This is the only way some teachers would take their responsibilities seriously. The welfare of our children should be our major concern, and we should not relegate that position to anybody, whatsoever.

Teachers in Government Service idle around and make a lot of noise about salary increases without any result to show. Majority Ghanaians have their children in Private schools out of necessity. Teachers salaries must be based on performance of their students.

If no one is seeking parents advice, serious parents can move forward to offer their advice. Parents interest in the education of their children will go a long way to motivate our teachers. It will also keep the teachers alert.

Every parent would admit that the contents of education at every level have improved, but the children are not making the necessary effort and sacrifice to learn well and pass properly though part of the blame could be laid on the doorstep of the GES.

Gone were the days when we have to burn the candle to achieve our aim, because there is constant reminder that your destiny or future lies in your passes and progression. It has become true since the little we achieved is sustaining us and urging us on to go higher.

But come to think of what is prevailing today. Children would prefer watching TV for entertainments, movies for pornographic materials, musicals, etc. Most of the boys go to internet cafes to continue watching sex vidoes, internet games, sakawa using the social media and all kinds of things that doesn't help their concentration and good upbringing.

The young are masterbating and doing all kinds of horrible things. Shocking to know say that most of the parents of these young ones do not know, but are rather too quick to blame the teacher.

Look, monitoring both home and school is the solution for the poor performances we are having today. The stake holders in this affair are the teacher, the parents and the students. Much as it is the responsibility of the teacher to teach well, it is also the responsibility of the student to learn and deliver on the exams. The parent who is paying the fees must do their duties by monitoring, enforcing and encouraging their wards to learn well to dperform well in the exams. The student has all the reasons to pass exams without excuses and without parents trying to cover for them like these parents are doing.

If indeed these parents are serious and want targets, they must rise above partisanship and be up and doing as good parents who do not only want to continue to pay high fees, but also help their children to turn out good results.

But no one does anything!Ask the new educational minister, Naana Agyeman.
To compound the situation, children are generally poorly housed, malnutritioned, hungry, thirsty, poorly dressed, badly entaertained, learn in the dark and no attention is given to their health needs.
Given all these, whilst no one attempts to do anything for a change, what shall we all expect from the results of our educational products?

I feel for you guys, but there are numerous underlining cause that brings great successful finish to any student in the world.
The school environment is a vast playing field with all kind of imageries. My question is, how many of you guys had never missed parents and teachers association meetings?. Good number of you guys had been there only 1 or 2 times. The schools are not daycare centers when you dump the child and go about your normal duties. And at the end of the day, you go back to pick up your wards. This is one of the major reasons why your child performance is not up to par. How many of you parents had called to the school where your ward attends to find out about his/her general conditions?. Just to find out whether your child had the necessary tools( sleeping place, food, healthy or not, progress reports)and many other issues.
Most parents around the globe think they know more educational problem solving than the teachers in general. They come to the schools with their heads and noses up and when a teacher try to explain an issue, they flatly refused to listen. THEY KNOW IT ALL.
Guys home environments play a function-able role in child development and educational success. This is a big problem in many household family. Successful student is parent-teacher based.

I think GES should consider that the parents are always right so if they need to speak back then they need to clarify things in s better way. The ministry of education should be made an independent body to provide a better service to the Ghanaian people.
