Woolwich 'murderer' Michael Adebolajo today admitted killing Lee Rigby in a 'military attack' and described his attempts to decapitate him at the Old Bailey today.

The 28-year-old's account of knocking down the Fusilier and trying to cut off his head led to Drummer Rigby's widow running from the court.

He and Michael Adebowale, 22, are accused of murdering Fusilier Rigby by running him down with a car and then hacking him to death with a meat cleaver and knives near Woolwich Barracks in south east London on May 22.

He told the court: 'After I struck the neck, I used another of the knives I had sharpened to try and remove the head but I was unsuccessful in this attempt.'

He went on: 'We planned a military attack which obviously involved, sadly - it's not something enjoyable, something fantastic - the death of a soldier. It's a military attack.'

When asked whether the killing was political, he told the jury: 'Jihad by its very nature is political.'

Adebolajo described the killing of Fusilier Rigby as a 'military operation'.

He said: 'No Muslim hopes to have to kill anybody, that's the first thing to make clear.

'Just as a general plans attacks knowing full well that when he plans this attack people will die, this is what happens in war, so when we target a soldier this is a similar thing.

'It's not a casual joke. It's a military operation. This is how we see it.

'To fight Jihad for the sake of Allah, it's not something that is to be taken lightly, fun or something like this.

'Those responsible for sending British troops to kill Muslims, it just so happens, those people who have influence and control over the military are the Government, yes.'

Asked if the attack was designed to intimidate the public, Adebolajo said: 'The truth is this, the Government and the British public have become aware of Jihad over the past years, a lot of people know the only reason it is occuring is because of foreign policy.'

Adebolajo denied that he threw Fusilier Rigby's body into the path of an incoming vehicle.

He told the jury he wanted to deter 'have-a-go heroes' from approaching him.

He refused to answer questions about how long he and Adebowale had allegedly spent planning the attack.

When asked when he had tried, unsuccessfully, to buy bullets for the gun, he said: 'I will not be specific, but it was a long time before the incident.'

Adebolajo told the jury that he had not planned to run down Fusilier Rigby with his car.

'As for the colliding with the soldier, that was not something that was pre-meditated. It just so happened that Allah caused him to cross in front of my car.'

He admitted that he was 'not 100% sure' that Fusilier Rigby was a soldier at the time of the attack.

He told the jury the 25-year-old had moved, and was 'maybe semi-conscious, but he did not sit up or stand up'.

Adebolajo admitted striking Fusilier Rigby's neck but denied hitting his head.

He said the soldier had already been killed by the time Adebowale left the smashed car and arrived at his side.

Addressing Adebowale in the dock briefly, he added: 'He (Adebowale) struck him twice with his knife - and forgive me for speaking my brother - but I prevented him doing anymore because I said he was already dead.'

Adebolajo said he handed a letter to an eyewitness to make it clear that the events happened 'for one reason and one reason only - that's foreign policy'.

He said: 'The life of this one soldier might save the lives of many, many people, not just from Muslim lands but from this country.'

Adebolajo said he asked people at the scene at Woolwich Barracks to film him to 'make it clear to everybody why the soldier lost his life' and 'how this can be avoided in the future'.

Asked why he ran at the police when they arrived, he said: 'I was almost certain that I would be shot to death.'

Adebolajo said he had 'nothing but admiration' for the firearms officers who applied first aid after he was shot.

Turning to his hospital treatment, he said: 'I believe this country, from what I experienced, we have the best nurses on the planet.'

'They show so much kindness to me while I was handcuffed to my bed,' he said. 'In Islam we respect this, but we don't respect oppressors.'

Adebolajo told the court a number of times: 'I am a soldier.'

He also said he was shocked at how long it took for Fusilier Rigby's body to be buried.

'It shocked me to the core. I thought surely he would be buried by now, because obviously he's a soldier like myself, and in Islam we bury our deceased immediately.'

The 28-year-old told the jury that he has no complaint against the police marksman who shot him in the wake of the killing.

'When I read the statements of the armed officers, I thought maybe they thought I was going to be a jobsworth, trying to claim some type of compensation because my humerus was shattered etc etc.

'It was a man who shot me, the female she Tasered me. I have no grievance with them, they are not the ones who are killing Muslims. They are just doing their duty.'

As ground rules were set out for his giving evidence, including not speaking over the judge, he said: 'I don't believe in the law.'

When asked what his defence to the charge of murder is, Adebolajo said: 'I'm a soldier. I'm a soldier of Allah and I understand that some people might not recognise this because we do not wear fatigues and we do not go to the Brecon Beacons and train and this sort of thing. But we are still soldiers in the sight of Allah as a mujahid.

Father-of-six Michael Adebolajo's youngest child was just four days old when he killed Lee Rigby, the Old Bailey heard today.

Married Adebolajo told the jury that having a wife and children was not an excuse not to fight.

He said 'Allah might throw me in the hellfire' if he 'did not fight for this reason'.

Earlier he described how he was brought up as a Christian who became a 'soldier of Allah'.

He admitted today to killing the Fusilier but denies murder, he told the jury.

He told the jury of eight women and four men: 'My parents used to take us to church every Sunday. The memory that sticks in my mind... is probably every New Year's Eve in the evening around 11 o'clock we would gather around in candlelight and read passages from the Bible.'

Adebolajo told the court that he took the name Mujahid, meaning fighter, in 2002 or 2003.

'Growing up I never did think of killing a man. This is not the type of thing that the average child thinks of and I was no different.

'When a soldier joins the Army he perhaps has in his head an understanding that he will kill a man at some stage. When I became a mujahid I was aware that perhaps I might end up killing a soldier.'

In 2010 he tried to travel to Somalia but was captured in Kenya and brought back to the UK.

Adebolajo said: 'There's a lot more to the story but I won't mention that.'

He said that, growing up in Romford, the 'vast majority' of his friends were white British, and one, Kirk Redpath, joined the Army and was later killed in Iraq by an IED.

Adebolajo said: 'I hold Tony Blair responsible for his death.'

He told the jury that he and Adebowale prayed to Allah that they would attack a soldier and not a civilian.

'To be 100 per cent, I don't believe there's a way to know 100 per cent that was a soldier, however there were some steps that we took.

'For example before we started out on that day and the night previous to that I started worshipping Allah and begging him that ... we strike a soldier and a soldier only.'

A convicted murderer of Ghanaian descent who was jailed for life for stabbing a teenager to death has escaped from a mental health centre.

Lerone Michael Boye ran away from the John Howard Centre in Kenworthy Road, Homerton, east London, at about 2pm today

Boye, 27, was sentenced to life last December for the murder of Kelvin Chibueze and told he must serve a minimum of 28 years.

His 17-year-old victim was fatally stabbed at the Arteflex Club in Ilford High Road, east London, on August 15 2011.

He was chased out of a birthday party and attacked with glass and broken bottles.

Boye's three co-accused are also serving life sentences.

Boye is described as black, about 5ft 10in and of slim build with short black hair and a goatee beard.

He has a horseshoe-shaped scar on his right cheek.

He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey or blue sweatshirt with a grey vest over the top.

He is known to have links to the Ilford area.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach him but call 999.

Anyone with any information about Boye's whereabouts can also call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, a mental health worker has appeared in court after he was accused of helping Lerone Boye escape from custody.

Dean Ablakwa, 29, from north London, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with conspiracy to assist an offender to escape from lawful custody, Scotland Yard said.

GHANAIANS HUMAN SACRIFICE!

Ghana: Human sacrifices in relation to the worship of idols and whether a person who refused a position as chief would be sacrificed; whether human sacrifice is considered a crime

The following information was provided during a 23 August 2000 telephone interview with a Professor of Political Science at London Guildhall University who is a specialist in the religion and politics of sub-Saharan Africa and lived in Ghana from 1985 to 1990. He emphasized that he did no research on ritual killings or human sacrifices and that this was not his area of speciality. However, when asked if he had heard of any stories of either ritual killings or human sacrifices while he lived in Ghana he stated that he had. He stressed though that these accounts were always third or fourth hand and part of Ghana's rumour-mill. He would not say that these events were "known to occur" but rather that they were "assumed to go on" or were "widely held to go on." He stated that either a ritual killing, or a human sacrifice, would be "definitely considered illegal under Ghanaian law." He said this was particularly true of Rawlings' government which he characterized as a "modernizing regime." He said that if such an incident were reported to authorities they would not turn a blind eye, but would investigate and if evidence were found they would take action.

This information was substantially corroborated by a professor of social anthropology with the African Studies Centre at the University of Cambridge whose speciality is applied anthroplogy and development, who lived in Ghana for 10 years, and whose recent research has involved "cultural constraints to education and the health status of children in Ghana with a particular emphasis on the girl child." She too said that there are many rumours in Ghana concerning ritual murders and human sacrifices. She said that she has heard of human sacrifice only through hearsay and that the truth of these stories is hard to determine. However, she reported that ritual murders do go on and that the theft of body parts sometimes occurs during feuds or wars where members of the victorious party will take the hearts or penises of those they have killed. The professor said that victims of ritual murders are strangers or enemies of those who commit them and not of their ethnic group.

When asked if it was likely that a person who had refused the position of chief would be sacrificed, she said that she was "very sceptical" of this. According to the professor, a potential chief has a certain amount of authority and it would therefore be unlikely they would be sacrificed and she believed this would be frowned upon. However, she stated that Ghana is extremely diverse in its ethnic makeup and therefore she could not speak authoritatively for every group.

She said that the legal authorities would take action if ritual murders were reported to them but cautioned that there would be limits on the ability of legal authorities to do so, particularly in the north, which is more traditional than the south. In the latter region there are greater literacy-rates and greater access to newspapers, radios and electricity. In the north, where ritual murders would be more likely to occur, these incidents would likely not be reported to police or government authorities, but instead would be handled by local clan authorities. In the remote areas there are very few police or legal authorities and such matters would not be discussed with them. The professor said that the Ghanaian government is trying to deal with these traditional practices, but their ability to do so in the north is in question.

Tamale (Northern Region) 28 March 2002- There are conflicting reports that Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani is still alive and not dead as announced by the Minister of Information and Presidential Affairs, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.

The Ghana News Agency reports counsel for the Andani gate in the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis Alhaji Ibrahim Mahama as confirming that the Yaa Naa is alive but declined to disclose his whereabouts. He said the person who was beheaded at the palace was not the Yaa Naa, but a mistaken identity by the mercenaries hired to kill him. MORE

The brother of the king of Ghana's influential Dagomba tribe confirmed today the ruler had died in factional violence that is thought to have claimed scores of lives.

"My brother died from his injuries, from bullet wounds," Alhasan Andani, brother of Dagomba king Yakubu Andani II, told AFP.

The police said yesterday the ruler had been decapitated in his palace by attackers from the Abudu clan, who share the chieftancy of the Dagombas on a rotating basis with the Andani family.

But Andani claimed that his brother had been murdered by hired killers.

"He was done to death by mercenaries because any Dagoma would recognise their king," he said. "He was killed by non-Dagombas."

Andani said according to the information he had received, "at least 60 people" had died in factional violence in the Dagomba capital Yendi, 531 kilometres north of Accra.

The 50-year-old king, a former schoolteacher, was the second most important regent in Ghana after the ruler of the country's dominant Ashanti ethnic group.

According to police, armed attackers stormed the king's palace yesterday killing the regent and 25 others. They said 15 other bodies were found elsewhere.

History of Ghanaian TERRORIST IN LONDON:

On July 21, exactly two weeks after the deadly July 7 bombings (see below), three bombs exploded on London Underground passenger trains. Unlike the London Underground bombings on July 7, the July 21 bombs were detonated within minutes, not seconds, of each other, and that only the detonator caps fired, with the whole bomb not exploding altogether, most likely due to the small size of the bombs and the low-quality organic peroxide used to fuel the explosions. On 12:26 p.m., an explosion occurred on a train at the Hammersmith and City Line tube station at Shepherd's Bush. Four minutes later, a second explosion occurred on a train at the Northern Line tube station in Oval. Fifteen minutes after that, a third explosion occurred on a train at the Victoria Line tube station at Warren Street. Though no one was injured in either of the three explosions, a person suffered an indirect asthma attack. The July 21 bombings:

On August 7, 2005, Omar, Ibrahim, and Mohammed were charged with attempted murder and possession of an explosive substance. Along with a fourth man, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, (Ghanaian), the three were also charged with conspiring to murder. On December 8, Hussain was similarly charged.

On January 15, 2007, Omar, Hussain, Ibrahim, and Mohammed, as well as Asiedu, a Ghanaian and a second accomplice named Adel Yahya, all appeared in Woolwich Crown Court. The trial was presided by Sir Adrian Fulford. Sir Nigel Sweeney, the barrister for the prosecution, stated that the six men were part of an extremist Muslim plot to commit sequential terrorist attacks similar to the July 7 bombings. It was also alleged that they made at least some of the explosive devices at Omar's home. Omar, Hussain, Ibrahim, and Mohammed were all accused of attempting suicide bombings, with Sweeney claiming on the second day of the trial that Asiedu "lost his nerve at the last moment", implying that he was indeed the fifth bomber who abandoned his own bomb. Hussain claimed that the device he detonated was meant to be a mere hoax that wouldn't injure passengers, and that he was motivated by a protest against the war in Iraq.

Then if modern slavery is about selling one conscience to the westerners then it means many Africa leaders have sold their conscience to them? Apparently yes. What I’m saying it takes critical thinkers and nature incliners to understand and know that am speaking the truth. Now Africans leaders have sold their conscience to the westerners, so the leaders are enemies to their citizens, so now Ghanaians or Africans are still slaves to west through their leaders. They have set our leaders as billboard but in reality they are still operating their slavery system and at this time with our prominent people of which some people consider them as literate in our society, that is why in my early written I stated that Ghana education is pseudo education with pseudo intellectuals it will be hard for any educational elites in Ghana to identify this if am lying.
Someone will tell me that, what I’m saying is rhetoric because there is no evidence. In United State of America system of government if you’re a governor and you refused to go by some secret society in USA constitution then definitely you will be assassinate example is J.F. When one becomes president in Africa and he/she is going for loan this is what they asked him/her are you going to use our constitution to rule? because they are slaves already they agree to them and after collecting it they begin to sell out the nation assets to them and devalue some valuable things in the nation, some of our leaders sold some nation assets to the Europeans for them to have power again in our nation, some of them devalued the education system, the currency etc on what grounds can Africa country buy a national assets in western countries? But when you come to Ghana you see the western countries buying our national assets oh what a moron country with moron people, anyone who doesn’t believe in slave trade, this form of slave trade is there for you to see. Now in the olden day’s slavery, they were selling humans but at this time our billboard leaders are selling the national assets and have devalued our valuable things such as our education system and our currency. The back bone of any country is education; any countries which have good education system develops so as it currency as an economic factor, now how can we say about Ghana? Poor education system and poor currency oh Ghana why? Now the nation is financially handicap and the leaders have filled their tummy with the national money corruption has become a canker among our leaders.
Condoleezza Rice, US general secretary in former President Bush administration once attended AU meeting and addressed our leaders not to trust east or west because they are coming for their own interest but not the interest of Africa, but what do we see because our puppet or billboard leaders have sold their conscience to them they still follow them, no wonder we are still slaves. We are still slaves my brothers and sisters, let’s not deceived ourselves that we are in the 21st century so everything has changed, it’s still going on, our national assets are been sold to them now they have say in our affairs oh God have mercy on poor Africa Ghana, you’re not in chains so you think is not true but it is happening day in and day out right in front of your nose. When our leaders come as president ministers and mps, they only think about themselves and how to sell a nation asset to their master. How can a president after looting and sold the national assets through dubious means and upon all the money he looted still demanding for an ex-gracias? How a president can kill some people because they have some little amount of money in their accounts and also have borrowed money from the bank and this same president sold national assets to his wife, looted the state, devalued our educational system and then sent his children to school in abroad? How a president can increased his salary 100% and are paying huge amount of judgment debts to some people? How a president can devalue our currency, sold national assets and sent away his follow Africans to their country? So you see the list can go on and on without endless, they all puppet or billboard leaders who are serving and were served the interest of the west by sending us to slavery.
No matter how you will vote for NPP or NDC they are all puppet or billboard leaders whose aim is to send us to slavery so citizens be careful don’t let these people ideologies entice you to fall a victim they have done and have succeeded. So why are you worry about these stomachticians who called themselves politicians whiles we can kick them off? So why are you worry about our puppet or billboard leaders while we can kick them off? I try to let my people understand the reality of 1800 theory from Charles Darwin, it fresh in their memory and when copy east who also copied read it, is the same thing but the victimization is upon my people back the more foolish they become oh God save your people.
