Thank you, Mr minister! The children in your constituency shall always be grateful and thankful to you for this well-thought gesture. You have really impressed the nation in all your work and endeavours! We, solemnly, pray for God's guidance in all things you do!

  bullshit, we do not want handouts. what we need are MP's with ideas who can create jobs so that we can buy the gifts for our children. hope he does not sleep with his constituents wife’s and gives them chop money. we have to let these brainless politicians work hard and not steal our money and donate pittance to us. wake up Ghanaians.

  Sam, you have to wake up. if life was good in Ghana you wouldn't be sweeping the streets of US to make a living. even in the US politicians take the lead in job creation. why do you think employment figures are the most talked about in the US during their elections. we are not lazy and we don't want handouts. we want jobs and good policies that would create that climate not father Christmas politicians whose source of earnings are questionable (ie our money). also i hope you stay young for ever as i understand it a nursing home would be at the end of the tunnel for you if we do not task these politicians to change their mentality of steal our money feel guilty at Christmas and dole out a few gift to our kids and be praised by inward looking guys like you.

  Politicians must also tell the press where their so-called gifts are coming from.
  They've been stealing since independence, and giving back 0.00001% of the crumbs from their tables to tell us they are kind.
  No, they're not.
  They are thieves.
  
  They should disclose the sources of their "gifts".
  
  They should bring factories and commerce, dams and irrigation projects, large-scale agriculture and food-processing plants, paved roads and electricity, schools and hospitals to their areas.
  That's when we'll know they're doing something.
  THEY SHOULD STOP STEALING!

  Thomas, why do we have to vote for people to serve our country and call them by titles and shower accolade for no job done except spending our money and taking holidays for no reason. my friend's son has been employed as a teacher for 2 years and has not been paid. this is not acceptable so let them earn the honourables and excellencies. this donations the minister made should not have made headline news. the fact that he chose not to make the donation unanimous and publicise it, that is why people are pissed off with him. we need our energy sector problems solved or at least a policy frame work as to how dum so dum so would be a thing of the past. no schools under trees whiles the president enjoys a holiday at our expense in Dubai, only for mosquito to tell us the he decided to take his passport and run because things were hot at the flag staff house during the X'Mas period. then he should stay there and not bother to came back. maybe he gave you a laptop but friend that is not good enough. we deserve better.
