  The Nsoatre Chieftaincy dispute could have long been resolved had the Brong Ahafo House of Chiefs not been co-opted to sideline real quest for legitimacy of the guy it ruled the case for.
  
  It must be explained that the House ruled for the much disliked and illegitimate candidate based on the technicality that the Lawyer of the opposing faction failed to appear before it as scheduled. Later revelations showed that the Lawyer failed to appear for the trial due to some non-payment of fee by his Clients.
  
  That said, we should all be mindful of the fact that Chieftaincy disputes settled on the strength of wealth or the ability to pay for the litigation does not offer much chance for discovering and ruling on truth.
  
  Such cases drain the pockets of the litigants and if the rightful heir to a stool happens to be poorer than the other constant, the former is then denied the stool, no matter how well the majority in the Town like him, and how well deserved he is to sit on the stool.
  
  It is well known that the "Professor" who the House ruled the case for had on the Committee of 4 that ruled the case very close pals who should have been excused. Nana Ansah, the Bomaahene, in particular, should have been excluded from that Committee for his known connections with the Prof. It is believed also that Nana Ansah was the insider within the House of Chiefs who worked behind the scenes to get approval for the Prof.
  
  The result of such a wrong decision by the House is the current impasse on the ground where the illegitimate Chief cannot perform any official duties as the Chief of Nsoatre. The families of those killed in a riot the Professor either organized or encouraged a few years back in the heat of his rejection remain unforgiven and seem resolved to deny him any right to rule in the Town.
  
  The people of Nsoatre care more about the legitimacy and character of any candidate claiming inheritance to their Stool than that person's wealth or perceived Scholastic attainment. Believable reports are circulating of the Professor's erratic behavior and substance abuse habits aside from the questions of his eligibility per relations. These must not be simply dismissed as mere libelous rumors but need serious objective investigation. The People of Nsoatre deserve better and would not allow the House of Chiefs to ignore the bare facts that determine the legitimacy of the Prof. to ascend the Stool. So, Nananom ought to review the Committee's ruling to ensure real Justice is done.
  
  No Police or Soldiers can ram the Prof down the throat of the Town. No Power in Ghana can foist him on Nsoatre, by-passing the truth of his legitimacy. Any deaths or injuries that result from the forceful enthronement of this quack Chief in the Town would have to be answered by the House of Chiefs which took that shortcut to proclaim the Prof the winner in the dispute.
  
  Hopefully, the honest, fact-based decision would be boldly and finally reached by the House upon a review. If the House cannot settle the case, it must wash its hands off it
  and hand it over to the Court before the situation exacerbates.

I made the error because I was all the time thinking about how the Professor lived almost all his life at Bomaa and and hardly anyone outside his family knew him at Nsoatre and yet he had the audacity to claim the Nsoatre Stool.
