What is the point in adding lanes if there are no outlets on the motorway, only to converge on to the fewer lane roads? The bottle neck is not the number of lanes but the lack of outlets from the motorway to/from alternate roads along the motorway. The money should be sent on creating access and exit ramps off the 18 mile stretch rather than just adding useless lanes.

The Accra-Tema Motorway is a two-lane dual carriageway having cement concrete surfacing with 2m bituminous surface dressed shoulders.

The 19km motorway forms an integral part of the National Route 1(N1) starting from Aflao (in the Volta Region) and ending at Elubo (in the Western Region).

It is also part of the Trans West African Highway (Abidjan-Lagos Corridor), linking the city of Accra, the Kotoka International Airport and Tema Port.

They are rather depending on private partnership with doubtful Ghana's taxpayers, with a concession to the private partners to break-even and make some profit on their investment before the "motorway" becomes Government's property 100%?

I bet a World Bank loan will be Ghana's share, which means it'll be a partnership between the World Bank and private investors rather than a public-private partnership as dishonestly indicated in the story line.

That simply means Ghana would have no shares whatsoever in this joint venture between the World Bank and private investors.

A government made of experimental materials whose aim is to carry on propaganda to the door step of the ordinary Ghanaian as a semblance of good governance. Everyday has its own version of propaganda and a plea for public sympathy. the last time, they said single digit inflation saw Ghana as the fastest growing country in the world when we could not afford just 1/2 square meal a day. Then came Edey Bee K3k3 with twisted mouth, yet workers were not being payed. just recently, the Veep Amissaah tried to lie to us that, the year was going to be easier than it was last year. But what are seeing? Hopelessness and frustration. The success of the market is observe right in the early morning. what at all do Ghanaians expect when it NDC in power, especially full of suspects like Mahama himself who was not trusted by his own boss at the time he was the vice? Times will continue to be hard and the public will hear nothing positive but propaganda. Cow dung government. Tweakai.

They hardly survive the first rainfall, not counting the cost of construction! The contractors sprinkle "kpekple" on the macadamized road and certify it as first-class "motorway".

You cant have trafic on any 6 lane road leading to a 2 lane road. These cars and lorries will travel freely in the six lanes, what happens if the get to tje two lane roads?
Why should goods for kumasi, sunyani and the whole of the northern regions have to go thru accra. Lets stop been foolish and do the right thing for once, lets contruct main roads that doesnt pass thru our cities and big towns. If goods are going to the north from Tema there should be a main road from Tema thru eastern region to get there.
Forget of the roads when the government cant feed it own people. Ghana has lots of loans to an extend nobody or group of people wouldnt loan us anymore. These roads contructed 10 years ago, ghana is still paying for them, not forgetting all our oil money is been used to pay debts ghana owes.
Suleman wants something in his name as if he also started a big project, we dont need a 6 lane motorway, we want food and water to live where we are now. Who will go to Tema is we have good government and better economy.

Recall Mahama's contract deals: Korean STX, Brazilian Embraer Jets and Hangar, Spanish helicopters, Christmas vacation/business dealing in Dubai! It would make more sense to build roads to improve transportation of goods throughout the Regions for both food and durable goods instead of a 6-lane highway to nowhere.
