So Mahama can be a good teacher for the Northerns. Please send him there.

There are loads of unpaid teachers ion Ghana; some waiting as long as 17 months. Yes you read right; 17 whole months of unpaid services! It takes money and not patriotism or love of working or service to kinship to feed and sustain a family.
Figures about unfilled positions and overstaffing at regional offices have been making rounds while young, ignored, voiceless teachers languish in mostly remote rural areas praying for a lifeline.
What does the government expect??

They rather spend money pretending to grow trees and Akonfem. Also even the northerners don't want to back north because of poor and non existent amenities. Apaak went to Canada to study to come and help northerners. On his return he settled in Accra and calls himself Convernor of Mahamas corruption. He is now the mouthpiece of this corrupt and useless Government

They do go to visit but dont want to stay and work there to help their own family members to come up to standard

The way to solve this problem is to get the private sector to help. As part of their corporate social responsibility, private companies operating in the country could support teachers who are posted to the North by TOPPING UP their Government salaries. This way a teacher who opt to go and teach in the North could get twice the salary of teachers of the same level who choose to teach in the south, east and western part of the country.
The Government in turn can give these companies tax incentives for undertaking such initiatives.
Secondly, the Government can encourage university graduates to go and teach in the North by forgiving them all their students loan after serving a specified number of years in this region of the country.

Those making lots of noise about graduates not having jobs should ask these unemployed graduates to go into teaching. There are numerous vacant teaching posts in all the regions. With their least working experience they will be well suited for teaching assignments rather than expecting the government to offer them jobs in the civil or public services.
