I worked for him at UG back in the early seventies. A brilliant intellect who loved people and had such a great sense of humor and an affinity for comradery. I will miss him greatly.
He was my Vice Chancellor at Legon for one year at the time Edzii was Registrar before Prof D.A. Bekoe replaced Kwapong and Mfudwo replaced Edzii as Registrar. Kwapong was a giant in classics and pioneer student of Legon when ...

I totally agree with you. Not a mention was made that this man transformed University of Ghana to what it is today. Ghana media is replete with journalists who have poor writing skills. What a shame!
Why not blame UG Legon or the government for not reporting Prof's death? The source is United Nations the reason their focus is on what Prof Kwapong did for UNU. I wish they had mentioned his age at death.
Sad but true
RIP! Excellent academic leader and a scholar.

It is not of much concern to government because he was not a thief like the politicians.
This is areal loss to Ghana and Africa not the death of stealing politicians.

"As this institution is not a secondary school but a university, so am I not the Headmaster, but the Vice Chancellor" Prof. had a good sense of humor. Prof., may your soul rest in perfect peace.
Dearest Nii Shamo,
