How can a dam be 400Km (248 miles) long and 90Km (56 miles) wide? No dam in the whole wolr has those dimensions!

Remember that 400Km is the distance between Accra and Sunyani and 90Km the distance between Accra and Nkawkaw.

I can tell you with every certainty that the dam is 400m long (NOT 400Km), 90m wide (Not 90Km) and 40 m deep, which are realistic measurements for a dam.

The measurements were not the only mistake made in the article. There is no East Mamprusi District in the Upper East Region. It is in Northern Region. We cannot allow our media to get away with serious mistake ...

We constantly get flooded by these guys and nothing gets done about it. Our own people do this shit in weija as well.

That is a good idea. The Ghana Government can build a holding storage down stream to hold the water which the people in the area can use. It can also be transferred into the main stream to improve water levels at Akosombo.

The people in the path of the flood should be relocated and a dam build in the current area. If this is done, I bet you, the Burkinas will feel reluctant doing the spillage frequently.

This Bagre Dam spillage is now an annual ritual. Does it mean that Ghana lack experts who can convert this spillage to benefit the inhabitants of this area? Instead, it has become an avenue for people to divert the taxpayers funds to private pockets through NADMO.

We boast of experts and yet there are simple problems facing our communities and we cannot do anything about them ie. annual floods in Accra, this Bagre Dam issue and a host of others. When can we ever solve our problems?

It is a shame that a country in a desert is able to store enough water and then spill the excess to flood a country that is supposed to be better endowed. We sit down and only talk, and allow all this water to run off, then we go over there to buy tomatoes, onions etc. as if they are better human beings than us.
