What kind of society are we trying to build for our kids by glamorizing a criminal of that calibre? Akufo Addo earned the same kind of ovation when he declared "all die be die"!
Ken Agyapong was applauded by the NPP Capos when he declared genocide against Gas and Ewes! Even a criminal like Eric Amoateng was given a heroes welcome befitting a re-incarnated warrior when he was shamefully released from prison in the USA! So wouldn't it be fare to state that the members of the NPP are misbehaving like deranged elephants?
If they still wonder about the reasons why Ghanaians rejected them--- not once but twice, then they need not invoke any deity to know the cause! Their thuggery, intimidating and barbarism is the cause!

Jumah antics dating back to his initial foray into party politics should have been telltale signs of his subsequent behavior, but Ghanaians...particularly NPP supporters.... as you trenchantly pointed out, never cease to amaze.Witness the enthusiastic throng of NPP fanatics who accompanied the law-breaker to court to cheer him on. Kofi Jumah claims he earned a degree from a university in the United States where liberal ideas abound...couldn't he have imbibed these principles....based on the fairness and equity... to pass on to his fans?

Jumah is a criminal and as such should be punished severely to serve as an example to would be law-breakers who wield enormous power and wealth....

Jumah is a political fool who reasons like Coker. Both have been corrupted by position. He thinks he speaks his mind that is foolish of any politician who does that. He said he feared no police but he has to remember that the police can unmake him. What about if they even come out with untrue charges? The lawyers for followed him to the court on pro Bono are all attention seekers. He should have been in the cooler for some days to learn how to respect and talk to people. Does he feed everybody in Ghana?

It's good news that Mr Jumah has been given a day in court to prove his innocence. The original press reports about the case was nauseating; that a former mayor and MP and later a cabinet officer had taken the law into his hands by ordering his 'machomen' to beat up somebody they accused of stealing a cellphone? Very often, the privileged in our society like myself and Mr Jumah in our comfort zones feel so entitled that we could do any thing and go scot free. This shameful, 'dark-ages' culture of impunity shouldn't be condoned any longer if we claim to be a democracy. I applaud Police in Ashanti and their boss, Mr Kofi Boakye, for very bold policing - arresting and bringing Mr Jumah to court of law. That's the way it's done in every civilized, modern democracy; Mr Jumah knows this beacuse he lives in the United over two decades. Being a privileged I think the principle Ghandi set forth for saints should apply to Mr Jumah: SAINTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE JUDGED GUILTY UNTIL THEY ARE PROVED INNOCENT. Well done once more, Kumasi Police!

Now, he claims he only intervened to save the alleged thief's life. How could Kofi Jumah reconcile the two statements he made himself? And I wonder how one saves the life of another who is receiving a massive mob beating by inflicting more beating on him or her?

It seems Mr. Jumah made the confession on the Radio to show and bragg about how macho he could be. But now that he is facing a possible assault charge, he is claiming a contrasting pose. Well, that tells the kind of person he is to be representing any Constituency.

It is so shameful how our notable Politicians could be such blatant liars, even denying what they voluntarily stated loudly on Public Medium like the Radio.

Kofi Ghana,as Jumah is known around town,especially around the Kumasi area, has exhibited this kind of deviant behaviour for a very long time;taking undue advantage of his influencial grandfather,C.E Osei`s name. His late granpa was the first Governor of the Bank of Ghana, a strong CPP man,and a close confidant of our first President, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. His father was also an MP,and thus this guy has grown up with the false notion that he is 'untouchable' from his childhood days;starting from elementary school to KOSS[now Konongo Odumase Senior secondary to KNUST,where he became NUGS President. These rest of his life history from that point on has been recounted many times over by he himself, so I need not bore anybody with them!
Frankly speaking,one would have expected him to have learnt some 'humbling' and 'real' life experiences from his long stay in the United States[ Newark,NJ,to be precise]!
But the Kofi Ghana of old ,soon re-surfaced with his appointment,first as the Mayor of Kumasi;and his subsequent elevation into the central administration proper[ NPP MP for Asokwa, and Deputy Minister of local Govt].
What many people are unaware of,as far as this current case is concerned is the fact that Kofi Ghana and a young NPP activist, called Eugene,kidnapped and savagely beat up a purported NDC serial caller or activist at the Golden Tulip,in December 2012,in the heat of the elections,and dumped this fellow somewhere along the Asokwa interchange,but went unpunished,for unknown reasons! So, this is not the first time he has pulled off such as dastardly caper,believing he could once again,get away with it.
I am particularly saddened by the fact ,as a grown up man,and a "Kaniba" to boot,,he failed to realize such a display of 'machismo' was the last thing his late mother needed! He may be back-peddling now,but I am afraid he has tied a strong nooze around his own neck; and all these decadent 'praise-singers',who believe the own and control Kumasi,cannot help him one bit!
