  Wow!! I am glad God has blessed me not to live in Ghana. Cleaning up by the people is a voluntary excise. I don't see why any citizen should be fined for not participating in the process. I guess there are government workers ...

  Wow!! I am glad God has blessed me not to live in Ghana. Cleaning up by the people is a voluntary excise. I don't see why any citizen should be fined for not participating in the process. I guess there are government workers called "town councils" or sanitation dept. whose job is to clean up the streets and collect the refuse. Please these people alone and deal with massive corruption by the President and his brother Ibrahim!!! Idiots!!

  Mankind you are wrong! In Germany one of the cleanest countries in the world every household has to keep their portion of the road in adjoining their home clean from rubbish snow etc and you are liable for prosecution. I see ...

In Germany one of the cleanest countries in the world every household has to keep their portion of the road in adjoining their home clean from rubbish snow etc and you are liable for prosecution. I see my mother-in-law do that religiously every time I visit. The government is the people remember.

  Your mother-in-law would be prosecuted because German laws make her liable. But in Ghana as Mankind commented is just a voluntary work because no citizen is bound by any law to do so. Just understand this common sense issue that the so-called Council of Chiefs would violate those people's right and or unlawfully cause them economic sabotage if they seize their wares or sermon them for punishment. Do you understand this?

  I don't see anything strange in a government calling on it citizens to voluntarily help address a bad situation. It is only those who don't wish Prez Mahama's government well who would have cause to complain about this laudable idea to help eradicate the filth Ghanaians are living with.
  
  We must all strive to end the unnecessary politicization of issues and the hatred if we want to succeed as a nation.

  EVER HEARD OF USA OR UK HAVING SANITATION DAY...GOV EMPLOYEES OR CONTRACTORS ARE REQUIRED TO CLEAN PUBLIC LANDS...AND IF PRIVATE LAND OWNERS INSIDE CITY LIMITS KEEP DIRTY LAND SENT THEM TO COURT!

  This has been a cause of much confusion.
  
  There are many fields where Ghana lacks the needed expertise. To solve this problem the government of Ghana has over the decades made scholarships available for the needed human resource to be trained abroad. In some cases so many people were sent and not even one returned. If you know you are not prepared to work and live in Ghana and would therefore not return do not take the scholarships.
