I do not support students' violent protests but military intervention is not the answer. Wa has a Regional Police command with enough police to have stopped the students.

Nonsense. Every house must have its own toilets. Toilets at vantage points are supposed to be for strangers/passerby who don't live in the community. This is the duty of municipal and district authorities. DCE needs education ...

DCE should rather enforce the inclusion of toilet and bathing in every house hold. Over the years political parties have using public toilets as campaign tool so there is no will to enforce this law.

In Uzbekistan, a former Soviet state, a gentleman told me that the state of civilization in any country is determined by the toilet culture Is the culture of open defication in Ghana one we can label as civilized? If not, then we have to change our ways not only to modern toilets, but to clean ones as well. However, to be able to maintain clean modern toilets, water must be available. It would, therefore, be reasonable to advise all the government officials talking about toilets in this country to ensure that all communities have running water and electricity to power water pumps. Does anybody know of a single country with clean toilets without water supply and electricity? For civilized private and public toilet regimes, Ghana should turn to Switzerland, Germany, USA and the United Arab Emirates for technical support. To add to the clean toilet system in a warm country like Ghana, provisions should be made in all toilets for visitors to wash their rear ends after the nature's call. In this case, our Muslim countrymen can help with advice.

Our nations approach to planning and development under the decentralized scheme is a failure and architects of that white elephant must accept and hang their heads in shame.
The two ways of that failure comes by way of land delivery and registration and the other is lack of infrastructure. Indoor plumbing in underdeveloped areas will work well for the future growth of communities if the area has an infrastructure of a centralized sewage system which in turn becomes part of land planning and development in the area. Individual home or commercial property septic tank systems are a recipe for disaster because the contents of septic systems eventually ends up being dumped somewhere. In Ghana we dump sewage in our corner of the ocean then catch and eat fish that fed off our sewage while our beaches become littered with unseemly turds. So the DCE and MCE must seek funding for a 5year project that truly reflect the intellectual superiority of Kwame Nkrumah's people anything else will not do. Remember Nkrumah gave us the Accra-Tema motorway ahead of its time even when the dumb and dumber folks in NPP parent party thought it was a waste.

This is backward thinking, totally unacceptable in a nation that is striving to catch up with 21st Century enlightenment. I wonder where some of these guys with municipal positions studied in school and even if they ever had a single course on how to smartly grow a town for the incremental effects to ripple toward national development. Every house should have sanitary facilities, no new residential development without these should be approved by the local government. He's probably recommending this approach because every new house is approved in the municipality regardless the quality of ancillaries provided in the design. Public sanitary facilities are strictly meant for public spaces, nothing less nothing more. Grow up my people!!!!
