Chief, I agree with you that a new ministry is not required to deal with the energy crisis. Instead, the President should have sacked the minister for Energy who has failed and is incompetent. All what is required is effective and efficient Energy Minister with one deputy who will be responsible for power generation and distribution. How can there be separate ministries for Energy and Power? Is power not part of Energy? Waste of scarce resources.

The President should have sacked the MD of ECG long time ago also for incompetence. Until Mahama takes on incompetent ministers and heads of public institutions, his presidency will fail abysmally.

Could you also remember that Rawlings used to incite TUC workers to strike against Liman's government in order to over throw it fraudulently? And could you remember that he used to take 'Kenkey' to Legon to demonstrate how the size had shrunk under Liman, and we ended up in the "Rawlings's Chain" but nobody could talk? Could you further remember that Acheampong and Rawlings used the mild IMF conditions under Busia and Liman respectively as justifications for overthrowing their governments deceitfully? Could you still remember that PNDC reintroduced IMF and the World Bank with more stringent conditions after the coup without apologizing to Liman?

I don't know what the leftists are talking about, and I don't believe that NPP is behind the present wave of strikes either. As far as I know, NPP is only highlighting the failings and excesses of the government, hopping to translate them into votes for the party in the next elections. And that is, in fact, genuine and legitimate politics because the failings are true and not false. Everybody in Ghana knows that cost of living under the NDC government is unbearable, and NPP is democratically seizing the opportunity to convince the electorate not to vote for NDC in the next elections.

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with an opposition highlighting the failings of an incapable government to wrestle power from it democratically. NDC is the cause of the strikes because of higher levels of corruption, over spending, reckless borrowing and economic mismanagement that have brought untold hardship on Ghanaians.

How difficult is it to come out with a load shedding time table. After all GRIDCO supplies him with digitized information of power available at any time. A simple excel spreadsheet can be used to generate a load shedding schedule, knowing the historical consumption pattern of ECG clients. Do you remember the ECG director who was fired during the early days of the Rawlings admin,for refusing to take on the challenge of sending power to the North because he doubted whether mud houses could be connected with Electric power. They take off power to essential service providers like Hospital etc, creating panic all over the nation. ''They must think and come again''

Just fire them if they will not go back to work and ask them to reapply and hire back the few good ones among them,in the first place they are over staffed sitting down doing nothing making a lot of money.
This should be a lesson to the government to act quickly to outsource much of the work of these people,they are just a waste of resources.

This gentleman is obviously very competent to have risen to the position as MD of ECG considering his name, which we cannot say about the man who claims to have fired him!

There is a lot of ignorance about ECG not only on this forum but also in the whole country. ECG is the distributor which only distributes whatever VRA and GRIDCO make available. Can you really blame it for non-availability of adequate power in the country?

Now that he has been SACKED the thieves have been left high and dry and they are seriously afraid of being exposed. The sacked Hutton -Mensah is no longer there to cover their backs that is why they are making the noise. The competent and intelligent one in ECG know that Hutton-Mensah is a blockhead with a THIRD CLASS engineering degree in his pocket. As an NPP man, Hutton-Mensah refused to create a load management time table to manage the power crisis deliberately to sabotage the current government. He was not even qualified to be an MD in the first! The buffoon Allotey-Jacobs and the stupid Samuel Cudjoe who as Board members schemed and lied to Atta Mills the late, to appoint Hutton-Mensah as MD. A forensic audit into the tenure of office of Hutton-Mensah will expose the rot he caused the company and his cohorts who are now demonstrating will be exposed. Why everybody is saying MD is sacked?What did he do wrong? If it is reassignment. Then to what duty? Did the government know she is having issues with very ministry, agencies and department?. 2016 will soon come.
