In Western cultures, incest isn't a taboo, though it's against the law, and I believe because of that its more prevalent, especially in the United States. The worst culprits suffer are merely jail terms.

Now I ask, what's your source that the percentage of Ewe men practising incest "is about 4times the general population"? I challenge you to give your source. If you do, you'd learn that there were Gold Coast Ewes, British Togoland Ewes, Togolese Ewes (of French-speaking Togo), the Ewe Fon of Benin (formerly Dahomey) and the Ewes of the small enclave of southwestern Nigeria.

The Gold Coast Ewes, which included the Anlos, the Tonus, the Avenors, the Somes, and the Krepis, i.e., the people of Peki, and its environs, formed part and parcel of the Gold Coast Colony. Indeed, these Ewes had been Gold Coasters long before the Gold Coast Colony was formally created in 1876 and they also made major contributions to the development of the Colony since before the pre-colonial and the post-colonial periods. In fact, they also fought for the independence of the Gold Coast. It isn't every person who speaks twi who is Asante, ok? Before the Yaa Asantewah War, where were the Ashantis? They had to be somewhere to start a war and certainly it wasn't from Volta Region. The Asantes fought the British to protect what was rightfully theirs instead of relinquishing it on a silver platter. You go to Britain, Israel, Germany, USA and they study Ashanti history assuming without admitting that Ashanti was incorporated in 1902 like you stated. Per your analysis and history why is that region still under-developed having contributed so much to the development of the then colony? On the other hand, the 1902 Asantes have been able to develop their region so much so that your people troop there everyday to stay. Have you heard of =Awonaga"-Anloga and "Awona-Fante New Town? Go and see your people living comfortably there and happy. They come back to Volta visiting, looking better, nourished and richer. You are treated good there but envy, covetousness, jealousy etc will not make you give praise where due. You people are always attacking Asantes because of your lack of knowledge as to how Ashantis treat other tribes in their midst. The Great Ashanti KING has created a seat of arbitration in Manhyia for all tribes well established in his Kingdom. What else do people like you want from Asantes? Let Schemer and his ethnic-hating Ashantis know that if the Trans Volta Region had not opted to join Ghana Nkrumah would not have been able to build the Akosombo Dam that has enabled Ghana to develop. Know that most of the Volta was within the German territory and if the VR had joined Togo it is Togo that would have had the right to build the dam. Please, avoid distorting history the way NPP, led by Nana is now doing. Thus VR has contributed more to the development of Ghana than any other region.

By the way, do you think resources are only gold and cocoa? Who are the labourers on the cocoa farms? Ashantis spend their day drinking palm and chasing each others' wives while the Ewes and other tribes labour to produce the cocoa. Go to the mines and see whether an Ashanti, because of cowardice, will ever go underground! And would you like an Ashanti to roof you? Of course you will look for an Ewe!!
