  The idea of redeveloping the Kumasi Central Market and the Kejetia Lorry Park is a very laudable one. But the assurances of the MCE and the readiness of the stakeholders does not materializes into a good and acceptable project. We have a government that can not be trusted so the traders and transport owners should not jump immediately to throw their "unflinching support to the project". For the purpose of accountability and openness, the MCE should make available the drawings and detailed cost public. This will allow for public criticisms and suggestions that will add up to the improvement of the project. For instance, will the stakeholders be happy after completion of the project that the stall allocated to them is 3 ft by 3 ft irrespective of what you are selling? They deserve to see the drawings to enable their acceptance before the project is initiated. A word to the wise is enough but to the ....... The Kaneshie and the Makola markets are there to prove me right or wrong. The Kaneshie market was built without any proper or suitable place for trucks to load or unload goods. Likewise pedestrians were left to their own fate as no arrangement in the form of planning made toward their safety. It is time for us to give a serious thought to whatever we do than to allow politics to dictate our fate. I think all the MPs present should have reasoned to request for the drawings to be made public by KMA before pleading for collaboration and cooperation. Politicians should not hide in their bedrooms and come up with anything for the people to jump in support. Rather they should make their plans open to the people for them to contribute towards such plans. The public should be careful, this government can not be trusted. They will come up with a good idea only to mess it later. This is NDC for you.

  Anyway l don't trust him or any politician in Ghana but at least the market need to be modernized. I hope they don't start and abandon it like any project initiated in Ghana.
