One of the biggest challenges to democracy and development in Ghana is the corrupt and unprofessional police service we have. And the reason why we have a corrupt police service stems from the bogus recruitment system that our successive governments have refused to address. Asking every regional party chairman to submit names for recruits into the police may help the government in power but not police service. If the police will examine the background of the dismissed officers they will find out that almost all of them had criminal background and did not take nor pass any competency exams. The police must as a matter of urgency review their recruitment policy and that will be the start in reforming our police service.

Yes if they are corrupt sack them from the police service to serve as warning to other corrupt officers,may God help us from corruption and favourism
