If you look it up on google earth, the Korle lagoon is said to be one of the MOST POLLUTED BODIES OF WATER ON THE EARTH. What a record!

I therefore call on the residents to demand the whereabout of the money meant for the work on the Lagoon. As for the AMA the time has come for the residents to insist on the dissolution of his entire existence for its lack of function , not to mention its arrogant Mayor Okoe Vanderpuye.

I have to agree with you. The journalist should have taken up the offer to go to the office, unless he's afraid the mayor would have him beaten up. But isn't $600m a lot of money for such a project?

The Korle Lagoon and Odaw river needs to be dredged without any delays because it will cause major flooding as it is choked and obstructing the water flow from the catchment area which flows down the ODAW river. Strict use of penalties and fines should be enforced for all the refuse and rubbish and scraps being dumped into the river and lagoon. AMA is sitting by and watching whilst fully knowing the attitude of the squatters living along and around the lagoon which will never change without punishment and enforcement subjecting the genuine residences and businesses in the area to high risks of flooding.

Clearly this is a project whose objective has suffered from the acclaimed incompetence of the Mahama NDC govt and the funds, oh lalalaa your guess is as good as mine, it has been walloped indiscriminately with glee by this Mahama NDC govt.
It hurts to spell it out but this project is kaput and the funds chewed and Ghanaian taxpayers have been stabbed with the whooping tab of $600 million dollars plus interest.
That is the e dey bee k3k3 you voted for and Ghana is a goner for it.

Korle Lagoon could be a portable -(moving) Water but never ever served as a Source of drinking Water like any other lagoon on the Coast belts which has its tributary into the Sea.
Before and during the 1940 to 1950's , Korle Lagoon was a Source of good Tilapia(fish).It got to a time whoever bought the Tilapia from Korle lagoon had the duty to remove a Cottonwool- “assaba/assawa" from the throat of the first;which gave suggestions to the fact that,either the nearby Korle-Bu Hospital has its Drainage Systems connected to the lagoon,or Korle-Bu Hospital dumped its Waste into the Lagoon under the covers of darkness.
(no one saw korlebu did that,anyway ).
How the Cottonwool ended up in the throat of the Tilapia in Korle Lagoon remains a mystery to this day.
Therefore,people (customers) refused or stopped to patronized fish from Korle Lagoon and that eventually grounded fishing from Korle Lagoon to this day ! Later, as far back as in the late 1970's, the Korle Lagoon was choked.
