  This issue of sexual abuse of students by teachers is very serious. These children that are being victimized, if they are brave enough to speak out, have virtually no support to take their cases forward. The system favors the abuser and pressure is on these children and others who want to speak on their behalf to keep quiet on the matter. Girls must come to class and face those very teachers that have propositioned them or even molested and impregnated them.
  The targets of sexual abuse and assault are the most vulnerable – often orphaned and living with relatives that don’t care for them at all. Yet these same children of Ghana hold the country’s future in their hands. If we remain silent, are we not also to blame?
