Albinos are people too and and not animals to be scarified to appease some god. Most responses on this thread have asked for the government's intervention in this matter. One person has even gone to extent of asking Yusif to be sent to either to UK or the US for his safety. Those a are all extreme solutions. This ought to be addressed at the local level, without involving the government. Ghanaians listen to their local chiefs, so I would implore the chief of the area to address the issue with the community and personally escort Yusif Fatua to school to show his support to this kid. It is time for the chief of the area to use his influence and prestige to ensure that all community members are treated equally and with respect.

Atebubu is a disgrace to BA people. I know an albino who got the best results in BECE results in 1995 or 1996 in jaman district of BA. From Adiokor. A very brilliant boy at the time and one the best in Ghana.

I am hoping that the social welfare and the leadership of the community will organize and help prevent such behavior from preventing the boy from achieving his goals. For example, Social Welfare can provide protection for him to and from school. (I am, through this medium, contacting Ghanaweb to see what I can do to help in this area (perhaps by paying for the services of the social welfare person?). I am sure other things can be done to help eliminate such behavior (e.g., parents can be held accountable for the childrens' behavior, laws can be promulgated, etc.). That if done will mean this country is not backward. Thougg I could not see his eyes but his course alone tells me this child is going to be great in future.
How about an NGO adopting him and bring him to Accra. I would have done exactly that if I were .......
I thought this thing was in the past and most recent cases of killings were only in EAST AFRICA, in Tanzania.

i am very said to read this Story. Is Albino not a human being? The Ministry of Education Needs to education Children to know why someone was Born as Albino,armless child,born with blindness etc. We are lacking such education.
