Let me again remind our Ga brothers and sisters that this vulgar opinion they have about being the owners of Accra and therefore they can issue empty ultimatums to everybody who lives in Accra, is not only dangerous but pure and simple foolhardiness.
Today as we speak, if the economic pie of Accra were to be equitably shared on the basis of proportionate investment and legally acquired shareholding status, the people of Accra who have been mercilessly undermined and defrauded by the greed of these their same Chiefs over the years and decades, would probably receive one of the smallest shares. Sentimental effusions like the one the Wulomo is said to have uttered - that is that, "our is our native land" and all that rubbish, has become pointless and archaic.
The whole nation has in the past few weeks, been witness to the irresponsible and tactless utterances and actions of these our Ga Chiefs.
This is the point I have been making time and again on this platform. Some Gas seem to think that, their primitive by-heart behaviour is something to be proud about. They are actually under the misconceived and erroneous illusion that they can achieve results in this civilized world by such vulgar behaviour. The less educated Ga Chiefs take after this bad attitude and the end result is that the whole Ga state is reduced into total ridicule and public contempt.
The strongest virtue and strength of any leader - be it a political leader, a religious leader, a traditional leader, a corporate leader, a community leader or even a head of family, is diplomatic tact and humility. Many Ga Chiefs, because they have been stranded in a time warp, refuse to appreciate the time tested benefits of this wise and valuable notion.
The lack of this simple virtue can create, by default or omission, unanticipated serious abrasions and rifts with people who could otherwise, be your greatest admirers and friends.
My humble advice to my Ga brothers and sisters is that if they want the Ga state to still be in existence in the next 50 years, they should try their best to make sure that well-brought-up and educated Chiefs emerge to lead the Ga state. Otherwise f things continue in the way they are, their own Ga Chiefs will continue to publicly disgrace the Ga state and will also continue to sell - or exchange for gleaming nice looking cars with 30 year old engines, the little-remaining material property of the Ga state, including even the very stools and palanquins that they, the Chiefs, sit on.
