Foolish so called MCE,fix the roads and demolish the unauthorized buildings to make life easier for the people to feel like human beings to pay you the tax,tax goes with development,they cannot continue to pay tax for you and your fellow thieves to pocket,get lost with you nonsense,if you sue them they will counter sue you for lack of foresight not fixing the roads.

That is very true. They are chopping the money that tax payers pay. Every "Big Man" is driving a 6 or 7 cylinder capacity engine. Now, how can the people make profit when they live in dumsor and their businesses cannot open because of that. All categories of self employed workers don't know when the lights will go off. Some have even closed down themselves. Until the power crisis is solved, how can people make profit to pay taxes?

Why should one pay tax to MCE's ? Whiles there are right institutions set up by the state for taxes. MCE's are corrupt, the money they collect goes straight into their pockets.

Exactly how does the council know how many people and or business entities live and operate in the local community? Is there a registry? How are taxes being assessed? How are they being billed? Are taxpayers supposed to mail in their tax payments or walk to God-knows where to hand deliver payment? The MCE must, if at all smart and innovative, look to ways to incentivize tax payers even reward them to pay their share of taxes and become responsible honoring their civic duty. Ghanaians are reluctant to pay taxes for an number of reasons but the most glaring of reasons being economic hardship on the poor class and the unwise disparities between wages of government officials, local and national, and the public they serve.
