The Yoruba are up in arms against them so they aren't safe there any longer, not even the South-East Nigeria where Ibos dominate.Ghana's immigration system is the worst in the sub-region and anyone can walk in and live for years or permanent with no paperwork or formalities. Ghana is forced to cater for these foreigners due to this unplanned increase in population. Fulani in this country are now outnumbering some minority tribes and will soon rule this country with the help of people like Grunzah who has always defended his tribesmen.Do we need chaos to worsen our problems because of the Fulani? Ghana must document these people and control their activities else we are sitting on a time bomb. Corney, the Fulani nuisance has gone on for far too long. They set fire to people's farms so that their animals can feed on the fresh foliage that sprouts up.
I visited Koforidua not long ag and I could see these cattle on free range at SDA secondary school and Training college lands and farms. The head of the school told me there is nothing they can do to stop it because the Fulas are armed and the police can do nothing about it because the Fula herdmen get support from the government in power.
My answer is just simple. The people should treat the cows as pests. Just a mixture of salt and ash on farms will lead to the death on any cow or sheep that grazes on it. Plain and simple. If government is not helping, the people should help themselves. Everybody is in business for profit.
There have been case of rape against these Fula people and we still entertain them. I miss Busia and his Aliens Compliance Order. ECOWAS should not be allowed to destroy Ghana.

As much as every peace-loving, morally upright individual abhors violence and would prefer settling disagreements in a rational, legal way, the repeated encroachment of Cattle on other people's farms, destroying their crops and sources of food and livelihood would enrage anyone under such siege.
What has the Al-Haji and his fellow Cattle owners done to find a sensible, amicable and permanent solution to the crisis since the last eruption of violence around the issue?
We cannot resolve issues right and permanently if we always subside in efforts to find solutions with the ebbing of conflicts, only to see them emerge again and again. We are most reactive instead of proactive in solving problems. That is what I see wrong in the Al-Haji's position.
First off, we need to fully investigate and establish the legal presence of the Fulanis in Ghana. Then, we need to establish how they could take care of their herds of Cattle legally and within the boundaries of land leased or sold to them. Fenced Ranches may be most appropriate in many of the areas in question.
Then, thirdly, the Fulanis must do whatever necessary to abide by the Laws of the land, and ensure their Cattle do not encroach upon other people's land and farms.
When any such trespassing of Cattle into farms occur, resulting in destruction of crops, the Cattle Owners MUST pay adequate compensation to the Farm owners. Period.
What makes the situation even more dire is the rising armed robbery some the Fulanis are reported to have been engaging in recently. Without proper documentation of these people in Ghana, we would not be able to sort out which ones are gainfully and legally employed to work on Cattle Ranches and who are criminals, simply roaming around to cause mayhem.
Just a few days ago, a Policeman in a Civilian outfit on a vehicle that traveling from Yeji to Kumasi was said to have been shot to death by criminal Fulanis who attacked the vehicle in a highway robbery of the passengers.
Why would unarmed Civilians not get alarmed and call for drastic actions to quell such wanton havoc on life and property by strangers on their Land?
If the Al-Haji values life more than wealth, then he should begin to search for proper ways to appease the worried masses of Agogo, and elsewhere, instead of taking to the Air to be that cynical.
Surely, sitting down around a table to iron out differences is the best option in resolving all conflicts. But in the absence of any viable avenues to promptly settle emerging problems, especially when such problems persist for a long time, people tend to take the Law into their own hands to either protect themselves and their property or mete out their type of justice.
If the Al-Haji has found a way to go to the Media, he can go further to seek full Governmental intervention for permanent peaceful resolution of the chaos stuck in Agogo area. The Ministers of Interior and Agriculture must team up to find a permanent solution. But the Cattle owners should stop pitching themselves as adversarial to the Citizens who have been besieged by the Fulanis.

Look, Fulanis understand one thing and that is "force". Why is this man coming out with such threats? Where was he when the people of Agogo were being terrorized all these years?
If this is for real, what prevents him from fencing his cow and what steps has he taking to stop his cows from destroying farm lands belong to the natives?
To me, I blame the chief because somewhere last year, the chief of Adeiso in the Eastern Region issued a warning to his people not rent their homes/houses to any Fulani or whatever because they are a destructive force with no understanding. Do we hear any complaints from that town? NO. There is no need to allow a problem to get out of hand before trying to solve it. It makes no sense.
As long as Akuoko Sarpong, the chief of Agogo had compromised his position, this issue will be hard to settle and I applaud the youth for coming out with this order to flush out these scums from their midst.

This is not the first time the People of Agogo have indicated their readiness to mete out their own style of Justice and Security on this issue. The problem has persisted for far too long. It did not go away and just resurfaced. It lingered on, eating away the patience of the People of Agogo. The last time I checked, people had been fatally assaulted by these Fulani Cattle keepers.
I don't remember learning anything significantly effective that our Government did to get Justice to the victims, and ensure the incident would not repeat again. Now, here we are, once more, with the eruption of similar volatile incidents ignited by the Fulanis.
How many People have to die before our Authorities, both Local and Central, take the necessary actions to properly protect the People who own the Land in Agogo?
Could the Chief, Akuako Sarpong, himself be a secret owner of some of the Cattle managed by the Fulanis? If not, why has he not done enough to control or push out the Fulanis to save his Citizens? If he is the one who have leased or sold the Land to the Fulanis and their employers, the Cattle owners, then he better ensure the Land is really his to give away. He cannot simply use his Paramountcy clout to dispense of the People's Land, only to have the buyers harrass the poor real owners of the Land.
Akuoko Sarpong is not the ultimate owner of the Lands in Agogo. Our Chiefs are only custodians of our Land, even those areas where no one lives or works on still belong to the families in the area. When we mention Stool Lands, it does not mean the the Land is exclusively owned by the Chiefs. Such terminology is applied only for differentiation between Lands belonging to different areas under different Stools or Chiefs.
Our Lands belong to the individual families and single entities. Only a small portion may be owned directly by the Royalty in the area. But even so, the Chiefs could not allow their Lands to be used for any purpose that threatens the sheer existence of their Citizens. Akuoko Sarpong must, therefore, not be propped up with royal eminence to strike any deals with the Cattle Owners at the expense of his Citizens, the real owners of the Land. He should be more protective of his People than receiving any 'goodwill' from the Cattle Owners and the abrasive Fulanis.
But equally importantly, Ghana needs to review her Land ownership and utilization policies to effectively incorporate definitive Land Use Classification and strict Zonal Laws.
If we had effective Zonal Laws in place, the Police could even be the first to intervene the mere presence of the Fulanis on Lands that the Cattle might not be allowed to graze on, let alone reaching the Farms of poor Farmers to destroy their crops.

If you want to rear animals, you must learn to fence them or acquire an area where you can develop properly fenced paddocks for feeding your animals. The State should, immediately after enacting the Law, start confiscating all stray animals and send them for slaughter. The proceeds from sales of the meat should be used to defray cost of loss of crops on affected farms. This practice of open grazing of animals should no more be encouraged in Ghana to the detriment of crop farmers. The rights of the people of Agogo must be fully protected.

They should find a way to destool traditional chief. He is doesn't gather, he scatters. Secondly, they have to organize themselves into citizen neighborhood watch groups. Thirdly, they should arm themselves. Talk is good but when you are facing an enemy who is armed, you should find a way to arm yourself. Obviously, arming one's self is not against the laws of the land since the Fulanis are armed and live in the same country. To be for-warned is to be for-armed. These are people who don't understand dialogue. They should confront the Fulanis physically. The Agogos advantage should be in their numbers. Do not confront the Fulani's when you are outnumbered. They are killers. At this point, I will assume that the Gov't is incapable of helping the people of Agogo. Their tribal backgrounds alone (Ashantis and Akyems), preclude them from any help from the gov't. How can citizens of a sovereign state face an attack internally from foreigners within their own country with rampant rapes and killings, and the gov't of the day refuse to act in anyway?
