Why do we love home used vehicles?Is Ghana the only poor country on this planet?Accidents are inevitable but it be reduced by using brand new vehicles why always home used vehicles for public transport.

99.99999% of cars on Ghana's roads are "home used" because of the crooked customs charges on imported brand new cars. There are Ghanaians living abroad and at home who can afford brand new cars but can't ship them home because they will have to sell their "pieto" to clear it from the port. Only in Ghana are customs charges on cars higher than the value of the car. As long as exhorbitant customs duty on imported cars remain, only non-roadworthy cars will ply our roads to cause accidents.

It is harder from what I was told to ship anything less than 10yrs old & even if the car is within 10 yrs of the current year they can charge based off wear & tear (eng mileage) the condition of the car determines the charge ...

It is harder from what I was told to ship anything less than 10yrs old & even if the car is within 10 yrs of the current year they can charge based off wear & tear (eng mileage) the condition of the car determines the charge and then custom charges you can easily be out off 3-4 thousand usd on a 10,000 dollar car so your looking at 15-20 thousand easy when most of the time blue book value on the car is anywhere from 8-9 thousand can somebody say triple rip off...oh ghana when dose your car manufacturing factories open up ?
