There has never been any gunshots in Lungni and we strongly believe there will be no gunshots because both tribes are against that gruesome act and both tribes have joined hands, efforts and resources in search of the culprit(s).

This murder needs to be investigated thoroughly. If a Bassari is found to be responsible, the law should deal with him. If a Konkomba man is also responsible for murdering his kinsman the law should take its cause. The murder was not committed on behalf of Basaris or Konkombas, so no one especially journalist should try to paint this as the beginning of another tribal conflict. We have come a long way to know that murderers must be arrested and dealt with without involving members of the communities in unnecessary confrontations. The North has seen too much violence. Peace must be given a chance. Konkombas and Bassaris are brothers.

I strongly urge the MPs for Kpandai and Wulensi both Konkombas, to move to the area and diffuse any tension. They can be assisted by their colleagues from Kwame Danso and Tatale both Bassaris to educate their kinsfolk to allow the Police do their investigations. There is no way for the recurrence of the bitter events of the past. The culprit when arrested should be disowned by their kinsmen to face the full rigors of the law.

Those saying there is no tension at Lungni between Konkombas and Bassaris are hypocrites! Why do we have heavy police and Military presence at Lingni in the first place? The dark ages are over. Why should a whole tribe be attacked because someone is found dead in the bush by unidentified Person(s)? How is one able to tell that, the murderer is Bassari, and therefore all Bassaris should be attacked?
