  How will the conversion of the UDS into autonomous cmapuses collapse the University? This is clearly a vice chancellor who is fighting to keep his job in face of pressures from the exploiting center of the already unfair and collapsing system. How can Prof Teye justify the total neglect of the WA and Navrongo campuses in terms of insfrastructure etc compared to those in Tamale? Go to Wa students do not even have lecture rooms to sit for lectures This is not to mention the fact that lecturers have to shuttle from the respective campuses for simple meetings at the expense of preparation for classes and scholarly work; Is the goo prof satisfied with what is going on in the two neglected campuses? What does Tamale lose with the conversion of the other two? how much time do lecturers need to return to settle down for serious work with those frequent travels? Meantime, the overbloated non teaching staff in Tamale sit in Tamale depending on the laboring Lectuers of wa and Navrongo to supply the money. Which part of the world is copying the UDS model? The NPP will be wise by first doing the right thing in quickly converting these campuses into Universities, thereby ending the exploitative system,( after all each region has a University) and second ensuring the running of a more efficient system than is currently the case. The Mahama administration by playing politics with the conversion has paid the prize, especially in the Upper-West region. The mandate of every University is teaching and research; the VC should address the question as to whether the UDS is currently delivering this efficiently. In the first 5years yes, but not now.All the lecturers do is running around for to University capital, which is Tamale

  John, JM supported the balkanisation project since WA promised a campus in his home town Bole. Rawlings who played a key role is opposed and would suggest new separate universities for the three regions.
  People in Upper West voted for change, that is good, but remember NDC has the majority overall in the north.
  On infrastructure John is wrong. The Getfund director Sam Garba, a long time socialist associated with the defunct NDM and PNDC pushed more resources to WA than Navrongo and Tamale, ignoring the VC's office. UDS must be kept as one university. Upper West and East and Northern can lobby for new universities.

Ghana is in financial crises, how profitable will it be to build another whole university wen Der are Minni campuses dat can be developed.?? creating a new universities will rather compete with those already existing to collapse dem.. remember sub campuses donot stay sub forever but rather develops into new campuses. so Mrs chancellor, revise ur speech..
