Why do you think there is an enormous upsurge in chieftaincy disputes across the country? Our corrupt politicians have made it more lucrative to be a chief in Ghana. They have exploited the institution and totally corrupted it, all to gain political favor/ advantage. Chiefs are being offered a lot of peps in the form of big cars, big money, just to mention a few. No doubt the masses are watching and so a lot who bear lineage to the stools or skins will definitely fight to ascend to the throne so as to enjoy the goodies. The result is what we are witnessing now.
