  Why should the white man come to Ghana to establish Automobile Technical School? Does it mean that KNUST has failed Ghanaians?
  One of my past students who studied mechanical engineering at one of the polytechnics in Ghana got employment with one of the transport companies in Ghana. He then decided to top-up at the KNUST's Mechanical Engineering Department. Throughout his study for BSc, he was not taught anything in automobile engineering but rather bombarded with mathematics throughout. When it was time to choose his project topic, he decided to choose a topic that has something to do with automobile engineering but his lecturers refused and rather gave him a topic on Gari Processing Machine. In fact, his lecturers told him if he want anything on automobile engineering he should go to K-Poly. You see, KNUST has deceived Ghanaians for long and this explains why Mechanical Engineering Professors cannot repair their own cars.

  He appealed to KTU to offer scholarship opportunities to Journalists to be train[ed] in various academic disciplines, especially Engineering, Environment and Technology to build capacity of journalists to help communicate effectively in these fields to support the industrial drive of the country."
  It is time Ghanaian go back to learn from the British and Nigerians when it comes to journalism and this exonerates JB Dankwa's assertion that Ghana was not ripe for independence. Look, in Nigeria journalism is offered for only one year and you cannot use WASSCE Cert to enter their school of Journalism. Their entry requirement is a university degree, HND, Army School Cert, Police College Cert, Charted accountancy Cert, etc, and so by the time an individual completes the one year programme they already have their academic or professional background to work with. This diversifies the field of journalism and brings everybody on board. You see, Ghana is so backward in everything. Thanks to our useless university education that seeks to suppress polytechnic graduates at all cost.

  Ghana is bleeding in terms of education because one thing I notice in my tertiary was that we just learn to create more problems to the society. No practicals to solve our problems but theories zalaaa. A country which can only applaud someone who chew and pour during examination and leave the skills to the ghost. My advice is that we need to give our technical institutions problems to solve for example Koforidua technical university is focusing only on energy, Kumasi technical university is focusing on Automobile and so on, so if you come out you know what to do and where you are going.
