  I advise the elders of the stool to swear the great oath ( NTAM KESIE) on the nominated man. By Asante custom, Royals can't bring charges on another Royal. On the other hand the Royal's can lobby the stool elders ( GYASE) especially the Kronti Hene. So that they will disqualify him. If the elders are compromised then the next action is the great oath and the effective person to do so is the Abusua Panyin.

  Tom Sawyer you are wrong, the queen mother is NOT the king maker. She nominates a candidate and its up to the king makers is. Stool elders ( GYASE) who will either accept of disqualify the candidate. The disqualification must be based on five major points.
  1. Is the candidate a Royal? Just as in this case at Kyempo
  2. Is the candidate an ex convict on criminal charges from a court of competent jurisdiction?
  3. Has he thief, having stolen something and has been arrested before.
  4. Has he had an affair with a married woman and has been found out and made to pay compensation ( AYEFARE)?
  5. Is the person deformed?
  These are the five basic charges that can prevent a nominated person not able to occupy a stool in Asante.
