  Even if is true, will that bring the boy back to life? Ghanaians celebrate unnecessary things tooo much. Are they doing their job well? Hw many ghanaians huv dogs who are not vacined, etc etc? smh

  *Point of Education:
  To the Veterinary officers and the media!
  Euthanesia does not happen with animals, as is a voluntary requested act to be put to death by physician from a capacitous Human being. Can take place only in case of a human being.
  Animals such as dogs, can only be be "put down" or plainly put killed!
  So in the case above the dog was put down by the vets.

  As to the use of euthanasia in the context here , l stand by what l said. The word euthanasia is a technical word, using it in a layman's sense skews the usage and meaning. However as we were not in the same classroom together, l will leave you to stick with your knowledge base.

  I beg to differ. Euthanasia is more used in animals than humans. That's the right word to use. You may have to find out online. Secondly, we are governed by rules that pertain to each disease. For rabies suspicion you need to quarantine the dog for 10-14 days after which the dog is released. If under rare situations you realise something else happens you can do as was done in Western region "euthanasia "which is commonly done in Ghana not to only rabid animals but animals with reocurring tumors that cannot be treated, old animals etc. Thank you

  If that picture is of the dog in question, then it is NOT an Alsatian at all. Secondly animals are PUT DOWN not euthanized. The veterinary services is asleep on the job so this is bound to happen.

The vet in question said he never said this is the 1st time euthanasia is been done so no need for all the officers mentioned as of this is a novelty. As for the word euthanasia it is used in veterinary n maybe more than in the human sector. Pls find out from other countries like USA,UK, Nigeria etc. Thanks

This is a police case and the police here have the authority to have a dog that attacks a person put down. It has nothing to do with veterinary services.

There's one man just behind my house, he has no fence wall around his house but has 5 dogs in his house, and when I'm passing by, they will be barking hard at me...isn't that foolishness? ...sometimes I just want to strangle them!!!
