Kumasi, May 16, GNA - A social commentator has urged Ghanaians to learn to forgive and reconcile with one another in spite of all the wrongs of the past to enhance the country's stability.
He said, "We must not harbour bitterness against anyone but work in unity and reinforce peace as the most viable virtue for humanity". Mr Edmund E. Premoh, who is also the Ashanti Regional Welfare Officer of the Presbyterian Education Unit made the call at the 29th Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service of the Asokwa Presbyterian Church Choir in Kumasi on Sunday.
It had the theme, "That You May Have Life In Fullness". Mr Premoh decried the proliferation of profane songs, which he said was an affront to the nation's crusade against indiscipline. He noted that in view of the influential nature of musical lyrics on the youth, musicians should strive to let their songs reflect the positive side of life and the nation's aspirations. This, he said, was very necessary, since the nation was yet to tackle fully, petty ethnic squabbles, the HIV/AIDS pandemic and insubordination among the youth.
He commended the choir for having survived stormy times and entreated them to endeavour to win more souls for Christ with spiritual songs.
